Ahem. Well, we here in Hockeytown are very happy to have Stanley back.Although I have to admit that I did not follow this season <>at all<>. Not even when we got into the playoffs. Not even when we got into the finals. NOT EVEN last night.I can place a tiny bit of blame on my not having TV reception, but there is a gadget called “radio”…But in my own defense, I refrained from being a poseur bandwagon-jumper this morning and chose not to wear my Wings jersey to work…
My husband likes Montreal and admitted he was rooting for Detroit only because he thought Pittburgh had a stupid mascot. He may as well base his loyalties on the flip of a coin…And, to be fair, he hasn’t watched much hockey this year. Most of his viewing has been in the last month, but then it seemed like most nights he’d put it on between dinner and the kids’ bedtime which is when I’m trying to get kids to settle down, not get all pumped up watching men skate around slamming each other into the wall.
I thought you picked your team based on who has the prettiest uniform.
Well, better Montreal than Toronto. My fiancé always refers to any Toronto team with the prefix “the hated”, i.e. “the hated Blue Jays”, “the hated Maple Leafs”, etc. (He’s from a small city that’s about an hour closer to Detroit than to Toronto, so… :-))
At least he wasn’t watching soccer. Otherwise you would have heard, “Goooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaalllllllllllll!!!!!!
