(with apologies to Donna Marie McGargill)
What do you want of me, George? How do you want me to serve you? How can I stop your crying? I am your mom.
Georgie, Georgie, you are so sad. Georgie, Georgie, you need a nap.
I hear you call out for me, George, and I am moved within me. Your crying stirs my deepest self. Rest your head on me.
Georgie, Georgie, you are so sad. Georgie, Georgie, you need a nap.
I nurse you on my left side. You arch your back, and you wail. I switch you to the right side. Please settle down.
Georgie, Georgie, it is so late. Georgie, Georgie, you need a nap.
I know you need a quiet house, you want some peace when you’re weary. But you are one of seven kids, learn to sleep with din.
Georgie, Georgie, you are so sad. Georgie, Georgie, you need a nap.
Love it! I can so relate to these lyrics. And I commiserate with you on having a baby who can't sleep with the noise of siblings. It's been 17 months and our little one still can't sleep if her sisters make any noise.
Poor little Georgie. 😦
My Joshua always resisted my right breast. Doctor said it was tonic neck reflex. Stronger in some kids than others. He is 21 and still sleeps with his head turned the same way. After fighting it for two months I let him empty the left breast and he only nursed on the left side from then until weaning at 15 months. At first I placed a milk cup in the right bra cup to catch the letdown but later just let that breast dry up. I was pretty lopsided!
Also, all my kids slept with fans in their rooms (not the ceiling style) for a little white noise.
I'll just change the name to Peter and now I have a new song to sing to him!
Funny how the fear of missing out on something overrides the need for sleep!
I think all moms can relate, sleep George, sleep well, little one 😉
