Military ballots may not count in Illinois
New Mexico, New York, Illinois…funny how it’s never states like Texas, Idaho or Alaska. It’s that red vs. blue thing. No doubt in my mind: if the military was known for being staunch Democrats, Nancy Pelosi would be getting on the first flight to Afghanistan to personally hand out absentee ballots.
As it is, ho hum, the military is disenfranchised, again. No big deal.

No Doubt!
This is so frustrating to me. It also frustrates me that the absentee military ballots are only used as tie-breakers in some states.
whole-heartedly agree.

We live in Georgia, typically a Republican state. Mine has had his for a month in Afghanistan. There you go. How about a post on the ruling yesterday in California??!! Ugh.
Even within states there is a noticable difference in attitude about military/absentee ballots among registars. When we were official residents in a hippy town in Maine, Tim had to fight every year with the city office about keeping us on the rolls. Now we are official residents in a town 30 minutes away and they cheerfully send us our ballots. The post office even has pictures of all the military members and vets on the wall.
