Can you guess what song has been in my head lately?

Though I’ve tried before to tell her
Of the guidelines I have for her in my home
Every time that I come near her
I just lose my cool
And my mouth starts to foam

Every little thing she does is messy
Everything she does requires a mop
Now there is no point in being dressy
I’ll just end up with stains upon my top

Do I have to tell the story
Of a thousand cleaned up spills since she woke up
Of the marker on the walls
Or of the mashed banana in my coffee cup

Every little thing she does is messy
Everything she does requires a mop
Now there is no point in being dressy
I’ll just end up with stains upon my top

I try to monitor her every second of the day
And keep everything up high and out of her way
But she always finds the butter
Or an unattended drink
She’ll empty the contents of my wallet
And put dog food in the sink

Every little thing she does is messy
Everything she does requires a mop
Now there is no point in being dressy
I’ll just end up with stains upon my top

Every little thing she does
Every little thing she does
Every little thing she does
Every little thing she does is messy messy messy
Messy messy messy

  1. That is classic. Thank you for sharing this. Now, I will never be able to sing the right words. 😉

  2. Shoot! Now I have this song stuck in my head!
I have one of these in my home too — in a male version.
He hasn't gone after the butter.
    Yet…

  3. How sad is it that I knew the song that went with your lyrics almost instantly. I have a child like this. No butter assaults or marker catastrophes, but she has been known to dabble in the gross mediums of toilet water, poo (she had a stint as a” fecal muralist” a couple years ago that was NOT well received), mud, and hand melted chocolate. I feel your pain.

  4. Love it!!! It should be the official theme song of moms of toddlers everywhere!

  5. I could have written this post for my “Trouble”
